About Mary
Mah Jong has been part of my life for 40 years—and for the past 20 years, I’ve had the joy of teaching others how to play with confidence. If you’ve ever looked at the card and thought, “Where do I even start?” you’re not alone. My job is to make Mah Jong feel clear, approachable, and fun—so you can actually enjoy the game (and the people you’re playing with).

How I teach
My lessons are warm, structured, and easy to follow. We focus on the essentials first—tiles, game flow, the Charleston, and reading the card—then build your confidence through real play. I break everything down into simple steps and explain the “why” behind what you’re doing, so you’re not just memorizing rules—you’re learning how to think through a hand.

Whether you’re a total beginner or you’ve played before but still feel unsure, you’ll leave each lesson with practical takeaways and the kind of clarity that makes you want to sit down and play again.

Experience you can trust
In addition to teaching, I have an extensive background in event management, which means you can feel completely comfortable trusting me to run your socials, open play events, and private Mah Jong gatherings. I know how to keep things organized, welcoming, and fun—so everyone feels included and the event flows smoothly.

My goal for you
I want you to walk into Mah Jong feeling excited—not intimidated. After a few lessons, you’ll understand the rhythm of the game, read the card with confidence, and be able to sit at a table and truly enjoy yourself.

Ready to learn?
Whether you prefer in-person, in-home, or online lessons, I’d love to help you get started.
